Board of Directors
War Horses For Veterans, Inc.
We are proud of our esteemed Board of Directors, a dedicated team of experts committed to steering our non-profit toward current and future success.
Business Owners Co-Founders
Andy Brown, with his wife Pat, owns a pipeline supply company. Over the years, he has employed numerous veterans of war. Andy has been a trail rider since his childhood and has always been passionate about horses with an equal passion to empower veterans.
Pat and Andy both empathize with our fighters, first responders, as well as with their horses. They see a strong link between the two and provide our veterans and their horses with that connection by opening up their home and farm to our combat veterans.

Business Owner/Army Veteran
Bryan graduated High School in 1984 then joined the U.S Army shortly after. He spent 4 years mostly overseas. I entered the sales force after I returned. I spent the next 13 years managing, holding positions from Sales Manager to General Manager. In 2001, Bryan had an opportunity to join a Mortgage company, where his team grew to a national company. He was the Regional Manager and part Owner until 2007 when he opened and started his own company, A1 Mortgage Group. His team grew the company to $300 million a year in loans and in 2015 he sold the company. He now owns Cap One Lending in Lee's Summit, Missouri. He enjoys consulting War Horses For Veterans and helping others.
President at R. E. Lewis Refrigeration, Inc.
Wayne and his wife, Michelle live in southern Iowa on a horse ranch raising cow bred quarter horses. He is the president of R. E. Lewis Refrigeration. They do refrigeration work in the food processing and food distribution across the US. They have 10 children and 15 grandchildren. His love for horses and country made War Horses for Veterans a great fit to come along side and assist with growth and strategy of the organization.
Financial Advisor/Marine Veteran
Joey Zdeb is a proud Gorilla alumnus of Pittsburg State University where he played college football for five years, a squad member of the NCAA Division II National Championship team in 2011. He received his Bachelor’s degree in 2013 and his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration in 2015. Shortly after, Joey went on to OCS in Quantico, Virginia to become an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps, and later stationed in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. In 2018, Lieutenant Zdeb led his platoon of 42 Marines while deployed in Afghanistan and is most proud of the safe return and total accountability. After his Afghanistan deployment, he returned to Weapons Company 3/23 in Springfield, Missouri, concluding his service in 2020.
Outside of War Horses For Veterans, Joey lives in Shawnee, Kansas, and is a Financial Advisor and Partner at Prime Capital Investment Advisors. He believes in helping the “little guy” plan for their retirement and specializes in investment management, financial planning, and retirement plan administration. In addition to his work, Joey is passionate about his family, physical fitness, hunting, fishing, running, biking, his 3 dogs, his church (St. Joseph in Shawnee), and spending time with his fiance, Emily. As a former teacher, coach, and overly-motivated Lieutenant, he understands the importance of taking quality time, positive interaction, and interpersonal bonding to effectively convey complex concepts.
